May 09: Dunlop opens new service centre in Emmen, the Netherlands.

After many years of successful cooperation with an independent distributor and vulcanising company in the North Eastern part of the Netherlands, Dunlop Conveyor Belting have decided to open its own service centre in that area.

The key reason behind Dunlop’s decision was the change of ownership of the distributor and vulcanising company involved, which was going to have a significant impact on the distribution of their products. The new enterprise will be known as Dunlop Service.

“We have an excellent network of distributors and service partners and we fully intend to carry on working through those channels but in certain strategic areas we must also be much more self-reliant if needed,” explains managing director Edwin Have.

This means now that Dunlop will now be able to provide a ‘full service package’ to customers in the region in addition to supplying their range of high quality conveyor belts. The new Dunlop Service organisation operates 24 hours a day, 7 days per week and provides a highly comprehensive range of services including:

  • Supply and installation of all types of Dunlop conveyor belting
  • Conveyor maintenance and repair
  • Supply and fitting of a full range of components such as pulleys, idlers, scrapers and motors
  • Pulley lagging
  • Sidewalls and cleats

Sales and marketing director Andries Smilda feels that this is a very important step forward in Dunlop’s customer service offering. “Dunlop Service centres are intended to fill in the gaps where there is an obvious need for us not only to supply quality belts but also to provide a top quality service facility to our customers in areas where we are unable to do so at the moment”.
